French Marketplace

Just around the corner from the impressive Frank Lloyd Wright Civic Center, an outdoor market calling itself "Antique Outdoor French Market, has become a once a month Sunday staple these late summer months. With live accordion music, a little bit of Edith Piaf and Jacque Brel, warm espresso coffee stand with buttery croissants, traditional French crepes, and a myriad of vendors selling nostalgia, I have enjoyed strolling up and down the aisles, feasting on colors, patterns, brocades, antique linen, vintage photography and inspiration.

It is the closest I can get to France these days, and I must say, it has been simply delightful...

Bienvenue! Laugh! Create! Enjoy!

A bientôt!....Adeline

Fog and the Market

On a lazy sunday recently, as the fog was just giving way to some sunshine, I spent a lovely morning enjoying the local Farmer's Market with my friend Suzanne ~ the bounty of the season! Heirloom tomatoes overflowing everywhere ~ sweet onions ready to be caramelized ~ figs, peaches and nectarines ready for jams ~

And of course the first thing I always see is pattern and an amazing color palette...
I let my camera do the walking ~ enjoy! ...Adeline

There is a slight chill in the air these days; apples are starting to show up on the outdoor tabletops ~ how I wish I was a baker ~ or that I even liked to bake!
A traditional French Tarte Tatin or perhaps a Tarte aux pommes with thin apple slices evenly fanned out over puff pastry, would be very delicious right about now!
