It's not quite 2012!

Guess who's coming to town?...just four days away from Christmas eve...

My love affair with the Instagram app continues. I love the mood of the filters, and the symmetry of the square format. I often gravitate to a nostalgic dreamy effect in my photography...
So for this last post of the year, I shall indulge with my favorite muse, Marie Antoinette, who just keeps appearing in my art work...Here I have her all dressed up for Noël, on a set of art gift tags ready to be wrapped on an extravagant gift, or tucked in an envelope with tender holiday wishes written on the back.

Joyeux Noël and Happy New Year!

Rejoice in the goodness, indulge in the gratitude, delight in the compassion,
be blessed by Iove...

Joyeux Noël!

NOEL... a favorite time of the year to transform different corners of the house into a dreamy world... a feeling of an 'Old Europe' .... a snow white Christmas perhaps...

to finish...a cluster of simple glass ornaments ~ green of course ~ hung from a vintage inspired candle sconce found in San Francisco many years ago...

... I will have another Christmas posting in a few days...
Stay tuned

Chinoiserie, Kitsch, and Provence

I have a slight obsession with green one might say! or is it chartreuse green, apple green, lime green,
citrus green, acid green, khaki green with an edge... it is clear I love that color.

Mix it up with hot pink or magenta, a Provence twist, some Chinoiserie, a little Indian kitsch...  which are also my obsessions, and you get a sense of the eclectic and bold look I adore around me...all against a soft white background.

I think Tricia Guild from 'Designers Guild' would be GREEN with envy!

What can I do, what can I say... even the umbrella on my deck is acid green!

I thought I would end with this beautiful shot of Napa Valley...not the view from my home!
But that's okay; it's just a pleasant drive away... and look at the color!

It's good for the soul...

French Marketplace

Just around the corner from the impressive Frank Lloyd Wright Civic Center, an outdoor market calling itself "Antique Outdoor French Market, has become a once a month Sunday staple these late summer months. With live accordion music, a little bit of Edith Piaf and Jacque Brel, warm espresso coffee stand with buttery croissants, traditional French crepes, and a myriad of vendors selling nostalgia, I have enjoyed strolling up and down the aisles, feasting on colors, patterns, brocades, antique linen, vintage photography and inspiration.

It is the closest I can get to France these days, and I must say, it has been simply delightful...

Bienvenue! Laugh! Create! Enjoy!

A bientôt!....Adeline
